Description

Day 01: Hike up to Crater Rim You will start your day with breakfast and coffee or tea. You will start with a 1 hour drive to Sembalun. This day you will hike all day until late afternoon, stopping for lunch in the middle. You will arrive at the crater rim in the late afternoon where your porters will already be setting up camp. You will spend the evening enjoying the views from the crater rim & have dinner. You sleep at the crater rim. Day 02: Hike to the Summit / Descend the Mountain On the 3rd day, you will wake up at 2:00am for a quick breakfast and then hike to the summit starting at around 2:30am. You will reach the toughest part of the trek at around 5:00am, which is a rocky accent to the summit. The footing here is loose, but you are not in danger of falling off the mountain. It is just strenuous because of the loose, gravel like rocks. You reach the summit just before sunrise, and enjoy it from the peak for about 20-30 mins. After summiting, you will come back to crater rim for a big breakfast and then start to descend the mountain. If traveling to Sembalun, the decent is mildly steep. If traveling to Senaru, most of the day is through thick rainforest. We will stop mid-day for lunch, and then continue after lunch. Once at the bottom of the mountain, you will be driven back to the port or airport. If you plan to stay for one of our other adventures, you will be brought back to our homestay in Senaru.
